6 Don't-Miss Fall Festivals in the Virginia Beach Area

While many people head to Virginia Beach, VA, in summer to enjoy the sun and sand, fall is a beautiful time to explore this coastal city, too. With so many festivals and events, there's always something to do. If you're planning on moving to Virginia Beach, here are six don't-miss fall festivals taking place this autumn.

1. Fall Wine Festival

For over 25 years, the Fall Wine Festival has heralded the start of the season. The festival takes place over a mid-September weekend and brings the festivities to 31st Street Park. Here, you can taste more than 60 wines, sample food vendors, and listen to live music. Of course, you'll also have the opportunity to buy your favorite vintages by bottle or case.

2. 757 Battle of the Beers

At the end of September, the annual 757 Battle of the Beers occurs at Virginia Beach's State Military Reservation. More than 40 local and regional brewers come together to show off more than 80 kinds of beer. Along with all the brews to sample, you'll enjoy food trucks, live music, cornhole, and (of course) beer pong. There's also a silent auction to benefit local charities.

3. End of Summer Bay Bash

Summer's almost over, but that doesn't mean the fun in the sun has to end. The party's just started at the Cavalier Golf and Yacht Club, where the End of Summer Bay Bash is in full swing in late September. You can dance the night away with live music and plenty of drinks and food. Admission fees help support charitable causes, too.

4. Neptune Boardwalk Weekend

On the last weekend of September, join a 50-year tradition and head to Neptune Boardwalk Weekend. Join thousands of Virginia Beach locals and visitors as they throng over 30 blocks of the boardwalk, packed with performance stages, artisans, food vendors, arts and crafts, and more. Other fun festival activities include the famous Neptune International Sand Sculpting Competition, an 8k race, volleyball tournaments, a regatta, and plenty of activities for the whole family.

5. Virginia Beach Seafood Festival

Near the end of October, the Virginia Beach Seafood Festival turns the State Military Reservation into your new favorite restaurant. This delicious event celebrates everything seafood, from oysters to fish and more. Sample a wide variety of savory foods from local chefs and food trucks, listen to live music, browse the vendors, and enjoy the sea's bounty.

6. Virginia Beach Jeep Fest

Spend a November weekend marveling at the power of the 4x4. Virginia Jeep Fest brings families together for two days of fun. The event starts with a Jeep beach cruise, a.k.a. a parade of four-wheel drives on the beach, followed by two days of beach sand courses. Throw in parties each night, a show 'n shine displays, vendors, and food and drink from a local host restaurant.
