James Hunter and his wife, Lizzie, had three children–Harriet, James, and Eloise–all of whom lived in the Hunter home for the rest of their lives. The family was very active in the Chesapeake community. While James passed away in 1940, Harriet and Eloise remained active in the area until their deaths decades later. Walk through the Hunter House museum to get a sense of what life was like for the Hunter family. Explore the furniture and decor, which has remained unchanged for the past 135 years. The museum is open Wednesday through Saturday, April through September, and reservations are required for admission.
4. Fun Forest–900 City Park Drive, Chesapeake, VA 23320
