1. Virginia Beach Boardwalk
How can you visit Virginia Beach without visiting, well, the beach? The Virginia Beach Boardwalk is a 28-foot wide boardwalk that stretches for a whopping three miles. There is plenty of entertainment and live music acts along the boardwalk throughout the summer along with a variety of charming outdoor restaurants.
Separate from the main boardwalk is also a pathway explicitly made for bikers, strollers, and rollerbladers. And, if you don't have a bike, you can rent one from the vendors located on the boardwalk.
Don't forget to visit King Neptune, which is a 24-foot statue made with 12 tons of beautiful bronze. This iconic statue is located in front of Neptune Festival Park and provides for an iconic photo opportunity.
2. Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center
Whether you are an avid science lover or just want to take in some knowledge, the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center has a little something for everyone.
With over 800,000 gallons of water and plenty of marine life to go along with it, the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center is one of the biggest aquariums in the country, and it's definitely not something to be missed.
3. Harrison Opera House
Located in Norfolk, just outside of Virginia Beach, is The Harrison Opera House. If you've never experienced opera before, the Harrison Opera house is incredibly elegant and grand, making it a perfect venue for your first experience.
If you're already an experienced opera fan, then you will undoubtedly appreciate this luxurious venue that's paired with grand staircases and stunning chandeliers. Not to mention that the opera acts are remarkable and will provide you with an experience you will never forget.
4. False Cape State Park
Have you ever wanted to camp on the beach? If so, False Cape State Park is the perfect place to do so! With six miles of gorgeous, uninterrupted beaches and 15.3 miles of trails, False Cape State Park is one of the best attractions in the city.
The park features primitive camping as well as an extensive environmental education program in what is one of the last untouched coastal environments on the East Coast
There are also over 300 species of animals located within the park including American bald eagles, white-tailed deer, loggerhead turtles, red fox, wild horses, songbirds, feral pigs and many more. There is plenty to see and explore at False Cape State Park.
5. Adventure Park At Virginia Aquarium
This stop is for all of our thrill seekers out there! Get ready to take on 150-feet high zip lines, tackle adventurous aerial rope challenge courses and hang out on elevated tree platforms at Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium.
Make sure to check out Glow In The Park, which is like zipping through an enchanted forest. Anyone five years and older can take on this adventure park.
